    Windsurfing at Saline this morning

when I arrived, there were only 2 persons on the beach, one was the fellow with the rv that picks up the trash. I stayed about an hour but had to leave because the wind surfers had chased everyone off the water. they were going so fast and a little out of control, first time I had seen them at Saline, hope this is not going to be a regular event for them. passed two more guys coming in with their windsurfing gear as I left. very windy today and the surf was up.

Windsurfing on the island in big winds is a pleasure to behold. The color of the sails zipping across the waters leaving a trail of bubbles; the happiness of the riders performing their feats- for you a bother but for us not being able to be there a longing to see.

just to be precise, the ones in the photos are kite-surfers, not windsurfers, but quite lovely to watch. they are quite frequently on the lagoon in Grand Cul de Sac…

Windsurfers in an unlikely spot – St. Jean taken from the villa we stayed in many times.
